Clyde Coast Mini League home match buffet

Please Help

Normally with the Mini League events the host club provides a small buffet for all the swimmers and supporters, so if possible would you please bring along something that we can share at the buffet, which will be in the squash court. (e.g. sausage rolls, satay sticks, sandwiches, rolls, fruit, cakes, etc. no nuts please). We have already purchased juice, crisps, tea and coffee.

It would be very helpful if you could let Grace Gill know what you plan to bring on the day so she can co-ordinate it all.  You will see Grace sitting at the Scotia desk on a Monday evening when the shop is open.

Long Distance Accumulator 2016 – results

The times for our recent Long Distance Accumulator have now been posted and can be viewed in either the Results section of the website here or in the normal Event Pages themselves for Session 1 and Session 2.  Well done to all who took part – the final results and awards will be available in due course once the data has been fully analysed.

Kiera Hart – Top Girl

Well done to Kiera Hart of our Swordfish squad who received the Top Girl Award at the Cumbernauld Spring Graded Meet on Saturday. Kiera scored the most points out of all the girls at the meet aged 8-11!

Sunday 13th March – morning training cancelled

Kirkintilloch training cancelled

The coaches have request that we cancel training on Sunday morning (13th March) at Kirkintilloch due to all available coaches and many of our swimmers being at competitions at Cumbernauld or Ayr.

Apologies for the short notice.  All other Sunday training as normal.

Long Distance Accumulator 2016

2016 Long Distance Championship/Accumulator will be held on Monday 14th and Monday 21st March.

Swimmers will be required to compete in 2 events on each evening, the times for the 4 events will be added together.  Awards will be given to swimmers whose combined times better the ‘Standards Time’ set out below.  These ‘Standards’ will vary by age group which is set at the swimmers age as at 31st December. In addition medals will be awarded for the first 3 in each age group – note that the age groups are different from those in the Club Championships.

Swimmers aged 11 years and under will swim 200m Individual Medley, 200m Backstroke, 200m Breaststroke, 200m Freestyle. Based on recommendations, distances may change for some members of Dolphins squad.

The other 4 age groups – 12/13 years, 14/15 years, 16 years & over and Masters – will swim 200m Individual Medley, 200m Backstroke, 200m Breaststroke and 400m Freestyle.

Just like the Club Championships, attendance is compulsory and all events must be completed; all swimmers 11yrs and over will be automatically entered into the event.

All swimmers be ready to go on poolside for 6.30pm.

I’d like to remind swimmers that you will need an extra towel to sit on, t-shirt and shorts to keep you warm and a healthy snack and drink. No fizzy drinks or electronic gadgets are allowed on poolside.

For this event to run smoothly and to allow us to record accurate times we need timekeepers; therefore if you can help please let us know.

Good luck to all swimmers

Auchenharvie Mini League Results

Win for Scotia! Fantastic effort by everyone!

1st place- Scotia ASC 189pts      North Ayrshire 146pts         Renfrew Baths 125pts

Congratulations on lots of PBs (personal bests) and an extra well done to those swimming in their first competition.

Thanks to Eilidh for coaching and organising the team, and Lindsay and Connor for preparing and encouraging the swimmers so brilliantly.

Many thanks to our timekeepers and to Teresa who recorded these results on the day.

The results are attached firstly in event order. Some 2nd lane swims are added as extra events after the squadron relays to allow for different age bands.

I have also made a list of results by squad which may be quicker to read through.  All these results can be seen on the Events Page here.

Let’s now work hard for our home meet on April 23rd at the Leisuredrome

We are currently sitting joint 4th place in the Clyde Coast Mini League table, the breakdown of points can also be seen at our Events Page here.
