Amateur Swimming Club

Leisuredrome, Bishopbriggs

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be collecting free donations for Scotia Amateur Swimming Club?
There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury’s – it doesn’t cost you a penny extra!
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3…
1. Head to and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to your good cause for no extra cost whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and Scotia Amateur Swimming Club will be really grateful for your donations.
Thank you for your support.

Kind Regards

Joyce Watchorn
Scotia ASC Club Secretary

Volunteering Opportunities

Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped on poolside and behind the scenes at the time trial to enable Scotia’s swimmers to get updated times for their meet entries after the Summer.  A very special thanks to our energetic ‘runner’ for collecting all the time sheets.

Scotia is soon offering a time-keeping course so please watch this space for details.

Scotia are also running their own meet in November and  will be needing many more volunteers to help this to run smoothly.  Please see this message from our club secretary about how to volunteer:

Hi All

As you know Scotia are holding their very own Development Meet on the 24th of November 2019.

First of all I would like to say a HUGE thank you to the parents that gave their time to come to the meeting on Monday night.  It was really well attended.

On the portal under “Volunteering” you will be able to put your name next to a job that needs doing on the day.  This event needs the support of the parents and swimmers to make it a success.

There are many varied duties for all skill sets so give the portal a visit and see what duties need doing.

Any queries please email me on the email address below.

Thanks in advance

Minileague 2019 Final

A massive well done to all Scotia’s mini league swimmers throughout the competition.  Scotia came sixth in the A final and all the swimmers swam superbly in a very competitive setting.  Many thanks to the coaches for all their input and to those who gave up their time to do timekeeping, judging and marshalling.

Updates to the competition calendar

Please note that the competition calendar is constantly being updated.  This Sunday (June 9th) morning training for Sharks and A-Squad is at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre from 08:30 to 10:30.

Time Trial and Venue Change on June 10th

On Monday the 10th June, there is a time trial for all swimmers in DOLPHINS, SWORDFISH & SHARKS at the Leisuredrome. This is to update times in preparation for competitions after the summer. It also allows the club another chance to practice running a competition in the lead up to Scotia’s meet in November.

A SQUAD ONLY– Training has been moved to Springburn Leisure Centre 19:00 – 21:00 on the 10th of June. Should any swimmer from this squad wish to swim in the time trial for a specific event(s), please discuss this with Lindsay at Wednesdays training session.

SWIMMERS are expected to arrive on poolside for 18:30 on the 10th of June for a warm up and are expected to stay until their events are completed (roughly 20:45/21:00)

As always, events like these do not run by themselves. If you are available to help make the evening run smoothly by timekeeping, marshalling swimmers or you are willing to help in any capacity, please let a committee member know or email
